About us

St. George's Preschool is based in the village of Glascote close to Tamworth town centre.

We are a non-profit making group which is voluntary managed by a committee consisting of members of St. George's Church and parents of children attending Preschool.  We have been established in the current building since 1992 and currently hold an a Good grading from Ofsted (Carried out July 2024).

The emphasis at St. George's Preschool is on 'Learning through Play'.  Whilst our children are playing they are learning too, through activities that match their capabilities, enthusiasm and own interests.  Each child is assigned a Key Person who will create a close relationship with the child and use observations to plan specific activities to help further their individual development.

St. George's Preschool is open for 39 weeks of the year running alongside the Staffordshire County Council School terms.  We run 10 sessions of 3 hours through the week:

Every morning 9am-12pm and every afternoon 12.30pm-3.30pm. There is the option of doing all day 9am - 3.30pm

Children are provided with a snack and a drink of milk or water which they are encouraged to serve for themselves. Water is available throughout the session.

We run a Breakfast Club from 8am-9am for early drop off  and breakfast is provided if required.  A lunch club runs after the morning session at 12-12.30pm  lunch is not provided and we ask that parents provide a packed lunch in a suitable box/container.

We also run an afternoon club from 3.30.5pm and a light snack is provided if required.
